Recommended Read: The Catholic Family Handbook

Mares picked out this gem a few months back, though I have only begun to read it recently. While it's impossible to find an authoritative and exhaustive resource on Catholic marriages and raising Catholic children--believe me, I'm ever on the look-out--The Catholic Family Handbook is a great book of timeless tips and references to scripture and Catholic doctrine.

A snippet I was reading this morning on a section on fatherhood:
Your dignity as a father rests, first of all, upon the fact that Almighty God has bestowed upon you the privilege of cooperating in the greatest natural mystery: the creation of human life. Sons and daughters are yours in a sense that nothing you may ever possess can be called your own. That thought carries with it a unique honor. ... Your children are your dependents. They bear your name. They imitate many of your mannerisms, gestures, and modes of though. Much more: if you are a worthy father, and they are worthy children, they carry with them through life the training in virtue that you alone can impress on their young minds.
